Character history-
Melinda Sordino was always a quiet girl, and that didn't help matters much when she arrived to Gotham High with the wrong clothes, the wrong hairstyle and no friends.
Branded as "Unpopular" on day one by the in crowd Melinda retreated into herself, all the more happy not to have to make any attempts to communicate with the rest of the world. She was painfully shy and a big city like Gotham just made it worse.
Ignoring her simply wasn't good enough though and it wasn't long before the popular girls would begin to pick on her. Mocking her at every turn and pulling cruel pranks on her like stealing her clothes out of her gym locker and hiding them, or having one of their boyfriends fling mashed potatoes at her in the lunchroom.
Her parents meant well but simply didn't have time for a child that was so difficult to communicate with. Both of them worked very hard in the city and outside of making sure she was getting good grades (Which she wasn't) they couldn't find the time for her.
Her life changed after a particularly bad day at school where someone on the dance decoration committee had dropped a can of paint on Melinda's head coating her in bright green and ruining a painting she'd done for her art class.
Dejected and humiliated Melinda ran away from the school, and when she ran out energy she found herself lost in downtown Gotham
It began to rain, thankfully washing off the paint before it could dry but staining her clothes. She ducked into a nearby shop mistaking it for a new age coffee shop.
In reality it was a shop of odds and ends that secretly housed many ancient artifacts. The old shopkeeper took pity on Melinda and brought her some dry towels and hot tea.
This managed to loosen Melinda's tongue a small bit, and the old woman running the shop seemed to know more about Melinda then she should have. She could see Melinda's suffering and offered her a weapon to fight back.
The cloak of the banshee was given to Melinda, and the Shopkeeper bonded it to her so no one would be able to remove it from her without her willing it. The cloak was a part of her now and giving her access to it's powers.
Returning to the school for the first time in her life Melinda felt confidence. The cloak made her feel like she could take on anything that popular girls could throw at her.
With her newfound confidence the cruel words simply slid off her and the popular girls left her alone for a week before finding a new target.
Melinda happened to be passing by as the girls were mocking another student to the point of tears. Melinda felt anger replace her confidence and she tapped into the powers of her cloak transforming into the "Scream Queen" and cutting loose on the girls with her scream.
She went too far though, deafening them for life.
She was arrested and sent to Arkham Asylum to be detained and receive psychiatric care under the watchful eye of Doctor Crane who would become "The Scarecrow."
She grew very close to Doctor Crane, seeing him as a mentor of sorts. He was very understanding and gentle in their talks together, didn't think her ideas were odd and was very pleased to let her paint. He even encouraged her to sing, though she found herself much to shy to do it in front of a crowd. She even dared to think she might have had real feelings for him.
When he took on the role of "The Scarecrow" full time he recruited her to assist him in a caper where he modified the pumpkins of Gotham City with fear gas on Halloween. Exposing them to heat would trigger the toxic hallucinogen.
Batman and The Flash arrived on the scene and began to deconstruct the scheme. While Batman took on The Scarecrow and his goons The Flash went to gather the pumpkins with The Scream Queen hot on his trail.
While she got a few good shots in with her sonic blast, The Flash defeated her by cramming a fear gas laced pumpkin into her mouth. Overcome with Terror she surrendered to him and was returned to Arkham.
Character personality-
Melinda is at her core a dreamer and an artistic soul, but due to the heavy boot of the public education system, the cruelty of her peers and a pair of less then attentive parents she has built up feelings of resentment, anger and self loathing.
She particularly hates blonds and prissy girlie girls.
Unfortunately due to the corruption of the banshee's cloak she has developed pleasure in picking on others. Taking her anger out on her peers and adults, even the occasional small child. The pain and fear of others delights her.
She is soft spoken and doesn't speak much at all until she trusts someone.
Extremely defensive she doesn't like to talk about herself and prefers just to listen to others. It takes effort to get her to open up.
Digimon personality- Black Guilmon is an outcast in his own sense. Picked on in his youth he became a smart ass and would get into fights frequently.
He doesn't much care for Melinda's soft spoken nature and frequently does things to get her to talk, or yell, or be embarrassed. He likes it much more when she turns into "The Scream Queen"
Character abilities-
The Banshee's cloak: The Banshee's cloak offers Melinda some specialized powers as it is bonded to her very being.
Transformation: The cloak can retract itself from being a full hooded cloak to a shirt or even a choker.
Flight: The Cloak allows her to take flight while in full hooded robe form.
Super sonic scream: The scream has two modes, an ear splitting screech as well as a high powered vocalized blast.
Vocalize: Melinda is able to access any and all range of of notes making her an excellent singer...when she can overcome her crippling shyness. It also makes her a skilled ventriloquist and vocal impersonator.
Sample RP-
Black Guilamon grumbled as he stomped back and forth on the roof watching his partner work.
She was painting, as usual for her. She'd been in this world a week and what had she wanted to do? Make friends? No. Post on the D-comms? No. Get into fights? God no! How frustrating. When he'd gotten a partner the dark dino had hoped it meant more action.
She was painting the cityscape today and softly mumbled to him so he had to strain his ears to hear, "Do you think Doctor Crane would like this?"
That tore it. If there was one person he didn't want to hear about again it was "Doctor Crane." After about three days of practically talking to himself he finally got her to open up and she explained how "Doctor Crane though this and Doctor Crane says that."
With a growl he spat fire at the canvas setting it ablaze, "Learn to think for yourself for once god!" He admonished.
But that had been a mistake.
Her hood rose up over her head and closed hiding her face.
A moment later the hood opened to reveal a massive mouth with huge teeth that opened wide and cut loose a powerful scream that slammed the digimon backwards sending him crashing into a pair of trash cans.
As he rose dazed from the blow she loomed over him, teeth bared in a snarl, "Go get me more paint." she hissed.
The Digimon did not need to be told twice.
